Main Character Club Tour – A Tour Like No Other

This year we were approached by Gabby of The Main Character Club to host a special edition of our 3 Day Isle of Skye tour dubbed The Road To Skye. The MCC has been on our radar for a few months and we were absolutely over the moon when Gabby asked us to help her organize the Ultimate Scottish Adventure with a feminine twist. The Main Character Club was founded by Gabby in early 2023 to “help women connect with one another in unique scenarios” and has amassed a community of over 10,000 members. With over 50 sold out events across the country, we knew we were in for a treat when she asked us to put on a tour and we had such a fantastic time that we thought we ought to share a bit about why this tour was so special and why you should look to get involved in the next one!

Why we love the Main Character Club

The Main Character Club can only be summarized by one word: magic. As a solo female traveller, before the Road to Skye trip I have never experienced the level of divine feminine energy, inclusivity and spellbinding positivity that I have in those three days to the Isle of Skye and back.

The Main Character Club allowed a group of women to embody whoever they wanted to be that weekend, whether it was a warrior queen wielding a sword (and getting the most stunning photographs of our lives taken) at Eilean Donan Castle, maidens swimming under the moonlight with Nessie, or goblins cackling together over our shared love of fantasy books and characters, oh and a particular book of Scotland myths and legends with a very pretty cover.

What were some of the highlights of the tour?

Adventuring on Skye it was easy to imagine oneself immersed in the myths of the landscape, from dipping our faces into the faerie blessed waters of the Sligachan river to the middle-earth like hike of the Quiraing. While these locations possess their own magic and mysticism; being surrounded by a group of women supporting one another, from being the best hype women around for the most amazing holiday photos to lending each other a hand to traverse tricky spots in the hike, transformed this Isle of Skye trip into something deeper.

Even moments on the road were full of laughter and connection- a particular favourite was after a mad dash through yet another bookstore (because of course we couldn’t stop ourselves) in Fort William and a whisky and photo stop in gorgeous Glencoe, there was a multiple hour karaoke session on route back to Edinburgh where there was no shortage of passionate Taylor Swift and Disney sing-a-longs. Throughout the entire trip, Gabby and the MCC empowered us to take adventure into our hands and let ourselves be mystical, whimsical and powerful. To take chances on ourselves, even if we were shy or unsure and hand us the tools (ahem a literal sword at one point), to be confident and proud of ourselves on this journey.

What else do they do?

In addition to the Road to Skye trip, the MCC is always hosting events for women to connect and awaken the main character within themselves. Besides hobbit picnics, hot girl walks and wonderous wild swims, this summer the MCC will be bringing back the Main Character Summer Camp where you’ll be the leading lady in the ultimate camp adventure with outdoor quests to cozy indoor gatherings. If you missed out on the sign up for summer camp, no worries because there is still a chance for you to live out your main character fantasy dreams in the Scottish Highlands. Get your name on the waitlist for the Main Character University coming this autumn. In the ultimate fantasy character move, become the heroine that leaps off the page and into reality as you immerse yourself in workshops with sword fighting, foraging, and spellbinding folktales. Master new skills and become part of a community of like-minded women in the ultimate main character experience.
